The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) has reported that all 187 polling tables that could not be set up the previous day were installed Monday morning, representing 0.2% of the total number of tables scheduled for the General Elections.

These correspond to 13 polling places located in Lima's Lurin, Pachacamac, and San Juan de Miraflores districts, which could not be installed the previous day due to the lack of electoral materials.

ONPE noted that voting will continue until 6:00 p.m., as agreed by the Plenary of the National Elections Board (JNE).

The extension of this voting process was requested by ONPE and approved by the electoral authority as an exceptional measure to guarantee the right to vote of 55,261 affected citizens.

Meanwhile, ONPE is responding to all requests for information regarding the hiring of the company responsible for transporting electoral materials in Metropolitan Lima.

The failure to comply with contracted services caused delays in the delivery of electoral materials in certain areas of the capital on Sunday, preventing 187 polling tables from being installed.

ONPE head Piero Corvetto announced that he will initiate legal and criminal proceedings against the company.

Since Sunday night, the 126 Decentralized Electoral Process Offices (ODPE) have been collecting electoral materials, including voting records issued by polling station members and ballots, which for the first time will be preserved until after the official proclamation of the general election results
