Peru's youth volleyball team defeated Chilean counterpart (3-0) on Tuesday at the U20 Women's Pan American Cup taking place in San Jose.

The brave national squad did not see any problems to win the match's three sets on its debut (25-23, 25-16 and 25-20).

Thanks to this victory, Peruvian athletes qualified for the Cup's quarterfinals. Peru will face Cuba today.

Participating countries are: Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and United States.

The national delegation is composed of: Lucia Magallanes, Nayeli Vilchez, Leslie Leyva, Ysabella Sanchez, Kiara Montes, Katherine Regalado, Thaisa Mc Leod, Diana de la Peña, Maricarmen Guerrero, Flavia Montes, Andrea Villegas and Valeria Takeda.

It must be noted the tournament will grant two team-tickets towards FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship taking place in Boca del Rio and Cordoba (Mexico) on July 7-16 this year.
