The Sixth Provincial Transitory Forfeiture Prosecutor's Office of Lima has initiated the seizure of four properties in San Isidro district, linked to the daughters of Jorge Barata, as part of a judicial proceeding related to the Odebrecht case.

Valued at US$613,000, the properties are registered under the names of Daniela and Gabriela Simoes Barata, daughters of Jorge Barata, former executive of the Brazilian construction company Odebrecht in Peru.

According to the judicial order, the properties are presumed to have an illicit origin and were therefore subjected to the measure.

The operation was carried out starting at 10:30 a.m. in San Isidro district.

It is worth noting that these actions are being carried out as part of the Lava Jato case investigations, in which the Prosecutor's Office seeks to recover assets linked to acts of corruption or money laundering through the asset forfeiture mechanism.
