Peru: President Jeri reaffirms government support for Glass of Milk Program

The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, reaffirmed the government's support for the "Glass of Milk" Program through increased funding, enhanced supervision, and technical assistance to strengthen it.

Remarks were made during the swearing-in ceremony of the new board of directors of the aforementioned social program in Lima and Callao.

At the ceremony, the women leaders of the program renewed their commitment to thousands of families.

The "Glass of Milk" Program (PVL for its Spanish acronym) is a social nutrition program created in January 1985 through Law No. 24059. It is aimed at providing a daily food ration of 250 cc of milk or an equivalent product to children aged 0 to 6, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.


Meeting with National Construction Society

The Head of State also received National Construction Society representatives at the Government Palace in Lima.

At the site, they discussed the country's challenges and solutions to boost strategic projects in the construction sector.

The top official underscored that the government always engages in dialogue, with the aim of making the best decision for the well-being of Peruvians.
