on Friday morning inspected the facilities of CITETextil Camelidos Cusco —as part of one of his first activities in this southern region of Peru.

CITE is a Center for Productive Innovation and Technology Transfer —an institution that promotes innovation and encourages the use of new technologies among producers, companies, associations, and cooperatives.
At this event, the Head of State was joined by
Production Minister Jorge Luis Prado with whom he visited each facility of the institution that contributes to improving the quality of animal fibers, with a view to manufacturing garments.
During the meeting with alpaca-breeding leaders of this region, Mr. Castillo called on them to get associated with their peers in order to have better contact with private entities and universities so as to promote talented young people.
Similarly, he called on Congress of the Republic so that it can also take a look at this productive sector.
"You can count on our support; we are going to look for solutions for our fellow alpaqueros (alpaca breeders); we have to sit down, talk, and give viability to what our brothers are asking for," he said.
Earlier today, the President visited the Agustin Gamarra barracks in Cusco region and had breakfast with the young men who make up the troops.
