received former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar at the Government Palace Tuesday.
They addressed various aspects of bilateral relations and investment promotion between Peru and Spain.
During the meeting with the former Spanish government official—who also chairs the Foundation for Analysis and Social Studies (FAES)—the two sides highlighted the strong friendship and cooperation bonds between the two countries.
Likewise, they stressed the need to continue strengthening economic and trade ties.
The Head of State explained the main priorities of her administration, focused on strengthening citizen security, mitigating the effects of El Niño phenomenon, removing obstacles to investment projects, and promoting infrastructure works in key areas such as water and sanitation, among others.
They also discussed President Fujimori's possible participation in the 30th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government.
The event will be held in Madrid on November 4 and 5 this year.
