President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday affirmed he does not agree with the Public Ministry's request to change the
—currently in place against ex-President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (2016-2018)— to preventive detention.
"The arguments of the Prosecutor's Office to revoke this house arrest do not justify it," the Head of State expressed in this sense.
Likewise, he reiterated his respect for the independence of powers, but indicated he does not agree with the request.
Lastly, the President stated the Executive Branch is always willing to
dialogue.
