The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte called on Peruvians to avoid confrontations in order to move towards unity and work together for the benefit of the nation.

"United, strong, and dignified, we will advance towards the progress that has been postponed for years, without political noise and confrontations, and rather guided by the example set by Mr. Miguel Grau Seminario," she expressed on Friday evening.

Mrs. Boluarte participated in the ceremony marking the christening and launching of the Navy's Multipurpose Ship BAP Paita.

Within this framework, the Head of State affirmed Peruvian history proves that unity is necessary to ensure the progress of the country.

"All of us standing up front and with a single heart, let us say that Peru is above its problems and that Peruvians are willing to work together for our beloved homeland," Mrs. Boluarte indicated.

In this sense, the top official said "it is time now, with that political maturity, to focus on the country and its needs."

"Peru cannot and must not stop," she emphasized.

Peru Boost

President Boluarte underscored that the construction of the Multipurpose Ship BAP Paita is one of the actions that integrates the country's economic recovery plan called Boost Peru, in which public and private sectors converge.

Said plan includes measures aimed at industrial reform in Peru, strengthening in this context the naval industry.

"This will have a multiplier effect on the industrial network," she added.

Mrs. Boluarte indicated that the aforementioned ship will not only enable the Navy to carry out its work in defense of Peru's sea, it will also facilitate disaster risk management and the transportation of humanitarian aid.

Moreover, the President highlighted the efforts undertaken by Peruvians on a daily basis, including the work carried out at the Navy Industrial Services (SIMA) shipyards, which she deemed as "the most important in the region."

Before Mrs. Boluarte's speech, Navy General Commander Alberto Alcala underscored that the commissioning of the BAP Paita generates 2,500 jobs and the participation of 65 Peruvian companies, several of them SMEs.
