Peru: President bids farewell to peacekeeping brigade heading to Central African Republic

President Dina Boluarte bid farewell to the 10th Contingent of the Peru Engineering Company, also known as the "Blue Helmets," as they depart for the Central African Republic on a United Nations peacekeeping mission.

Likewise, the top official expressed her hope for the mission's prompt return to the homeland so they can reunite with their families, with the satisfaction of a duty fulfilled.

The contingent will work on the repair and maintenance of airstrips and roads, as well as on explosive ordnance disposal and minefield clearance, in addition to other engineering tasks.

The group is made up of 220 service members from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, including 31 women.


With this mission, Peru reaffirms to the international community its active participation in global peacekeeping operations.
