on Thursday urged business associations to continue dialogue, with the aim of building a strong and powerful country—one that Peruvian society deserves.
The remarks were made during his address at a follow-up meeting on progress in the Government General Policy, which was attended by business associations.
"Let us do everything possible to sustain these dialogues and always build the country model and society our children will enjoy. We may not see the strong, powerful, and well-integrated Peru our society deserves, but each of us can still contribute our small share," he stated.
In that regard, Alvarez explained that the purpose of the meeting was to listen to business associations, as they represent entrepreneurship in Peru and can coordinate with the various ministerial portfolios.
"This is intended to allow them to coordinate efforts and push forward key points for action in the present," he pointed out.
The Cabinet chief explained that Peru is a highly privileged country, where every five years there is a debate over which ideology should prevail in government—"a kind of permanent re-creation and doubts about our future."
"A new, merit-based political class, along with a business sector linked to production, can save us. That can safeguard our future to avoid this self-destructive cycle of renewing ourselves every five years," he added.
