Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen on Wednesday congratulated the democratic and civic conduct demonstrated by the protesters who joined today's strike called by a sector of transport workers.

At a press conference after the Council of Ministers session, the Cabinet chief said that outbreaks of vandalism have been exceptional.

He added that reports indicate that the demonstrations were peaceful in over 98% of the locations where the marches took place.

"This affirms that Peruvians learn from lessons. We have understood that we have an unrestricted right to protest, and that the government of President Dina Boluarte absolutely guarantees the right to protest," said Adrianzen, who called for maintaining peace and tranquility in the demonstrations during the remainder of the day.

The high-ranking official also praised the work carried out by the Peruvian National Police, which has deployed more than 13,000 agents, and the Armed Forces, which mobilized 4,000 troops in Lima Metropolitan Area.

"They have done an impeccable job with absolute respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms," he underscored.
