Peruvian exports of non-traditional products amounted to US$1.367 billion in June this year, an increase of 18.2% compared to the same month in 2021, the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCR) reported on Sunday.

This result was driven by higher prices (9.6%) and volumes shipped (7.8%).

The BCR highlighted the increase in the price and volume of textile, chemical, iron-steel, and metal mining products.

In the first half of 2022, such exports reached US$8.436 billion, up 19.3% compared to the same period in 2021.

In the sixth month of this year, sales of calcium phosphates were up 127.6% year-on-year.

Higher sales of zinc products (132.5%) and shrimp feed (15.4%), among other products, were also recorded in June.

In the first half of 2022, the most exported products were fresh grapes, zinc products, and calcium phosphates, which recorded an annual rate of growth of 16.7%, 57.1%, and 49.7% respectively.
