Peru: New Transport Communications Minister sworn in

President Martin Vizcarra on Friday afternoon administered the oath of office to Maria Jara Risco, who has become the new Transport and Communications Minister of Peru.

She will thus replace Edmer Trujillo, whose resignation was confirmed on April 14.

The former minister was part of the reshuffled cabinet —led by Prime Minister Salvador del Solar— which was sworn in on March 11, 2019. It must be noted Trujillo had initially taken office in March 2018.

Today's swearing-in ceremony took place at 5:00 PM (local time) at the Government Palace's Golden Hall in Lima.
