The
National Superintendence of Migrations expands the use of electronic gates (e-gates) at the new Jorge Chavez International Airport terminal, Lima, to all foreigners on international departures.
To date, the e-gates were only available to Peruvian passengers and foreign residents (with a valid Foreigner ID card) over 18 years of age.
Now, the e-gates can also be used by adult foreign tourists who entered through Jorge Chavez Airport and hold an e-passport, thus expanding the range of beneficiaries of automated migration control.

Trial phase at Jorge Chavez terminal
At the start of the trial phase, passengers from Mexico, Ecuador, the United States, Colombia, and Brazil, who had previously completed their pre-registration at the migration kiosks, used the e-gates to exit the country. The process took them less than a minute.
The mandatory pre-registration must be completed within 48 hours prior to the flight.
This
process is available through the following website, as well as the Migracheck mobile app, available for iOS and Android.
The pre-registration involves completing a form with the passenger's personal and travel information, such as flight number, immediate destination, reason for travel, and more.
This allows faster passage through e-gates, following automatic verification of the biometric data stored in the passport chip and the screening for alerts, warrants, or other restrictions.
At the new Jorge Chavez Airport, the National Superintendence of Migrations has 19 fully operational electronic gates, nine of which are located in the departures area and 10 in the arrivals section.
