The Judiciary has returned to the Prosecutor's Office the accusation against former
, Sergio Bravo Orellana, Abraham Dan On, Marco de Moura Wanderley, and other defendants for money laundering and collusion in the Southern Interoceanic Highway stretch 4 case judicial proceedings.
On Tuesday, Judge Richard Concepcion Carhuancho granted 15 working days to the Prosecutor's Office to rectify the formal observations raised by the lawyers of those accused and the companies involved.
The hearing will resume in Lima on July 16 at 2:30 p.m. (local time).
The former president is accused of allegedly receiving US$6 million in bribes from Brazilian company Camargo y Correa to ensure the awarding of works for the Interoceanic Highway's stretch 4.
According to the prosecutorial thesis, Toledo Manrique would have been involved in irregularities during the awarding and construction of the aforementioned road. Thus, pre-trial detention was requested.
However, in a resolution dated March 20, Judge Concepcion Carhuancho dismissed the measure by explaining that the former president has not been extradited for the act in question, but for the Interoceanic Highway case (stretches 2 and 3) for which he already serves preventive detention.
