The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Sunday expressed his appreciation to the government and people of Bolivia for their support with regard to the political situation in Peru, and affirmed that the foundations of democracy are respected under his administration.
In a post on Twitter, the Head of State thanked Bolivian President Luis Arce for his message, in which he affirmed that his Peruvian counterpart was elected by popular vote in a process that was witnessed by Latin America.
"Thank you very much brother (Luis Arce) for the support of the government and people of Bolivia with regard to the political situation in my country," Mr. Castillo remarked.
"Our administration respects the foundations of democracy, and we must fulfill the will of the people: promote social changes for the good of Peru," he added.
Precisely on Saturday, via Twitter, the Bolivian leader emphasized that legitimately elected governments strengthen democracy in the region.
"We extend a hug to the President of Peru, Pedro Castillo, who was elected by popular vote in a process that was witnessed by Latin America. We send him a lot of strength so that he can continue working for his people. Legitimately elected governments strengthen democracy in the region," he pointed out.
