The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday signed a supreme decree approving the Executive Branch's Integrity Strategy to 2022, with the aim of preventing and combating corruption.
The strategy, which was also signed by
Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez, is aimed at ensuring improvements in the appointment and hiring of public servants, including mechanisms to verify —in advance— their capacity and moral integrity.
Likewise, it seeks to develop public servants' capacities for decision-making about citizen service standards and principles over particular interests, and to implement a standard registry of online visits, in which activities are reported.
In addition, the strategy contemplates the implementation of a registry of requests for hearings on management of interests, as well as the strengthening of the integrity office, among other provisions.
The High-Level Anti-Corruption Commission constitutes a space for articulation and coordination among public, private, and civil society institutions.
Its objective is to propose short, medium, and long term policies aimed at preventing and fighting corruption in the country.
