Peru: Government appoints Ronald Ibarra Gonzales as Deputy Mines Minister

The Executive Branch has appointed Ronald Isidoro Ibarra Gonzales as the new Deputy Minister of Mines, a position that had remained vacant following the departure of Henry John Luna Cordova.

Through Supreme Resolution No. 009-2025-EM, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Wednesday, Ronald Ibarra Gonzales was designated Deputy Minister of Mines —a position of trust that had remained vacant for several weeks.

The supreme resolution is endorsed by the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte Zegarra, and Minister of Energy-Mines, Jorge Montero Cornejo.

The preamble of the resolution states that the Deputy Minister of Mines is responsible for formulating, coordinating, implementing, and overseeing sustainable development policy in the mining sector, in accordance with the corresponding national policy.
