The Second National Collegiate Criminal Court has ordered that a medical examiner evaluate, within a period of 48 hours, the health status of
"The Collegiate (court) orders, at the request of the former president's lawyer, that the medical examiner evaluate the health of the accused, Alejandro Toledo, within 48 hours and then submit the corresponding report to the court," the Judiciary announced.
Likewise, the Second Court ordered that the oral trial continue in hybrid format, which includes in-person and virtual sessions.
Therefore, a document will be sent to the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE), so that Toledo's lawyer, Roberto Su, can bring a laptop into the Barbadillo penitentiary establishment and be given Internet access for the proper exercise of defense.
Furthermore, the judge declared inadmissible the request of the former president's defense to declare null and void the resolution that rejected his request to exclude from the accusation the document "Pacto de Accionistas de Conirsa S.A.A." (Conirsa Shareholders' Agreement), which had been presented as evidence.
On November 3, Alejandro Toledo stated in a hearing that he suffers from cancer and heart problems that affect his health, which is why he asked the Second National Collegiate Criminal Court to continue the judicial process in freedom.
