The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) reported that Peru's agro-exports totaled US$6.84 billion during the first seven months of this year (January-July), a 2.5% increase compared with the same period in 2025, reaffirming the sector's competitiveness and dynamism in international markets.

"Agriculture continues to conquer more markets with more fruits, vegetables, grains, and other products, confirming the competitiveness of our producers," Minister Marco Vinelli stated.

"The sector is committed to continuing to open more markets for small-scale farmers and promoting their activities through greater access to water, technical assistance, credit, technology, and mechanization," he added.

During this period, traditional agro-exports totaled US$535 million, an increase of 0.4% compared with 2025, due to higher exports of refined sugar (US$26 million), greasy wool (US$7.4 million), and cane molasses (US$6.2 million).

Sales of these products increased by 32.2%, 74.4%, and 24.2%, respectively. They accounted for 7.5% of traditional agro-exports.

Meanwhile, non-traditional agro-exports totaled US$6.305 billion, 2.7% higher than the figure recorded in 2025.

The leading products in the agro-export ranking during the analyzed period were avocados (US$1.128 billion; 17.9% share), fresh grapes (US$806 million; 12.8%), fresh blueberries (US$620 million; 9.8%), fresh mangoes (US$264 million; 4.2%), and raw cacao beans (US$223 million; 3.5%).

On the other hand, the 10 main destination countries for Peru's agro-exports were the United States, the Netherlands, Spain, Chile, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Ecuador, China, and Canada.

This group of countries accounted for 78.5% of the total export value during the analyzed period.

As of July, the agricultural trade balance recorded a surplus of US$2.61 billion.

In absolute terms, exports increased by approximately US$170 million. Meanwhile, imports rose US$233 million, indicating that total trade grew 3.8%.
