Domestic and foreign tourists who had planned to tour the Inca Trail Network of Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary this week and who were affected by the recent suspension of air operations at Jorge Chavez Airport in Lima will be allowed to reschedule their visit to this tourist attraction.

"The necessary support will be provided to reschedule the dates for entry of visitors to the Inca Trail Network of Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary, meaning those who have been affected by the incident that occurred at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima," reads the document.

According to the statement, visitors and tour operators who had scheduled their visit for June 4 and 5 will be allowed to enter the area on subsequent days, following coordination with the department heads of Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary and the Machu Picchu Archaeological Park.

On Monday, Culture Minister Leslie Urteaga announced that her sector will provide support to tourists who had planned to visit the Machu Picchu Inca citadel, but who could not arrive on time due to the problems generated in Lima.
