Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Carlos Pareja spoke with
King Felipe VI at the presidential inauguration ceremony in Costa Rica.
In the conversation, the monarch expressed interest in Peru's democratic process and his desire to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new government in the South American country, scheduled for July 28.
The foreign affairs minister assured King Felipe VI that he would be "very welcome in Peru" in talks held as part of the official activities in the city of San Jose.
Pareja is part of the Peruvian delegation participating in the official events surrounding the presidential inauguration in the Central American country, scheduled for May 7 and 8.
According to the government, the minister's trip aims to strengthen political ties with Costa Rica's new authorities and hold bilateral meetings with representatives from other countries in the region.
