The Government of Peru on Monday reaffirmed its commitment to continue working for education, comprehensive development, food security, and the protection of all girls and boys.

The message was posted on social media by the Presidency of the Republic, within the framework of World Children's Day, which is celebrated today.

"Today we celebrate World Children's Day by reiterating the commitment to continue working for education, comprehensive development, food security, and the protection of all girls and boys," it stated.

World Children's Day

World Children's Day marks the day on which the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959.

This day was first established in 1954 as Universal Children's Day and is celebrated on 20 November each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare.
