The meeting took place as both delegations traveled to Costa Rica to participate in the presidential inauguration ceremony scheduled for May 8.
Minister Pareja was authorized to travel to San Jose, Costa Rica, from May 7 to 8 to attend the official events scheduled within the framework of the presidential transfer of power ceremony in the Central American country.
During his absence, the Foreign Affairs Office will be entrusted to Prime Minister Luis Arroyo.
Peru's participation in the presidential inauguration ceremony reflects the country's political will to deepen dialogue and cooperation with Costa Rica's new authorities, according to the resolution authorizing the trip.
Laura Fernandez will be sworn in as Costa Rica's President, succeeding Rodrigo Chaves in the post.
