From the city of Stuttgart, the government official stressed there is a very favorable environment in Germany to invest in Peru, as the South American country's macroeconomic stability and new political context stand out.
"The Germans also highlight Peru's openness to international trade. In that sense, we continue with the line of promoting private investment; I believe that once this tour is over, the assessment will be very positive, and there will be more investment for Peru," he emphasized.
The Cabinet member underscored that Germany is one of the main economies in the European Union. Thus, visiting its main cities is of utmost importance, Contreras noted.
"I think these visits are very important. From these trips, we generate investment for the country; indeed, we have received interesting proposals right here," he remarked.
Sectors
Minister Contreras stressed that, during its visit to the German city of Stuttgart, the official delegation has held various meetings with businesspeople and investors, who are highly interested in continuing to invest in sectors such as mining, agro-exports, and renewable energies.
"There is interest not only in investing in the extraction of concentrates but also in the possibility of refining, which is very important. German airlines have also expressed their intention of establishing direct routes from Germany to Peru; without a doubt, this promotes tourism," Contreras underlined.
He added that there is plenty of interest from German capital (sources) that want to invest in green hydrogen.
"In that sense, we have the task of boosting this new industry in Peru," he said.
Presence
The minister noted that the presence of Peruvian President Dina Boluarte was highlighted at the meeting held with the Business Association for Latin America (LAV), since a Head of State had not visited its members since 1995.
"At the Business Association for Latin America, Peru was the special guest, and that has granted us greater visibility. What we want is to close important deals for Peru, in terms of investment, during tomorrow's tour in Berlin," he pointed out.
