Argentina and Chile collected victories in their opening fixtures of the South American Youth Championship, which started on Sunday in Peru.

Argentina started their South American Under 20 Championships with a 2-1 comeback win against Uruguay, goal.com reports.

Diego Polenta gave Uruguay the lead after 37 minutes but two minutes before the hour mark Argentina restored parity through Michael Hoyos. Then in the dying minutes of the match 17-year-old Juan Manuel Iturbe popped up with the winner.

Chile too made a winning start to Group A and currently occupy pole position in the group.

Both the Chilean goals came in the early minutes of the second half as Lorenzo Reyes found the target in the 52nd minute and then eight minutes later Jose Martinez secured the victory against hosts Peru.
