The Peruvian Government will continue to work intensively hand-in-hand with regional governors until its last day in office on July 28, 2021, to solve those problems that had remained unsolved for many years, the President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti affirmed on Friday.

The Head of State held a working meeting with the Board of Directors of the National Assembly of Regional Governments (ANGR) at the Government Palace in Lima.

On the occasion, the President was joined by Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez, as well as Ministers Waldo Mendoza (Economy-Finance) and Oscar Ugarte (Health).

"I want to reaffirm that you are part of the Executive Branch. The regions and the National Government must work together," Mr. Sagasti expressed.

"We are a few months away from completing the term in office, but during this time, as you have witnessed, we will continue to work intensively and hand-in-hand to solve the problems that had not been solved for many years," he emphasized.

Priorities

Concerning the economic reactivation, the leader indicated that the constant concern for his administration "is how to find that difficult balance between taking care of the health and lives of all Peruvians while, at the same time, taking care of the means of earning a living."

"The answer is not easy. We always have to look for a solution that must be progressively adjusted based on how the circumstances vary. It is not a situation for people to say 'it is like that and it stays that way for all time,'" Mr. Sagasti stated.
