U.S. Ambassador to Peru Krishna R. Urs on Thursday inaugurated the Government Acquisitions and Infrastructure Projects Management Workshop at the U.S. Embassy in Lima.

On the occasion, U.S. officials shared with Peruvian counterparts the U.S. Department of Commerce's and General Services Administration's experiences on the development of transparent hiring processes relying on high-quality and anti-corruption standards.

"U.S. businesses operate under high-technical and ethical standards and are interested in investing in Peru. It is important to strengthen hiring processes and make progress in terms of quality, transparency, and anti-corruption," Ambassador Urs expressed.

According to the diplomat, the recently-published National Infrastructure Plan represents a great opportunity for Peru, as it will be able to focus on achievable goals on its way towards economic growth

This workshop is part of the United States' collaboration with Peru, so the Inca country can face infrastructure challenges.

He went on to add infrastructure is essential for Peru's sustainable growth.

"Solid infrastructure makes trade, businesses, and development opportunities easier," the U.S. diplomat said in this sense.

"A Peru where all its citizens can participate in economic progress is the goal of our policy for a shared prosperity in the region," he concluded.
