Peru Fin Min: Infrastructure Plan attracts interest of US, Australia, Canada

Peruvian Economy and Finance Minister Carlos Oliva affirmed the National Infrastructure Plan for Competitiveness has attracted the interest of the governments and businesses of the United States, Australia, and Canada, as well as other countries, in participating in the design and execution of the 52 projects.

According to the official, the majority of projects will be designed and executed with the Project Management Office (PMO), which was used for the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games

"Naturally, we have the presence of the United Kingdom, which helped us with the Pan American Games, but a week ago the United States' Commerce Secretary was interested in signing a memorandum of understanding in order to promote companies from said country to come here and give support with the PMO," he expressed. 

"There is also interest from Australia, Canada, and other nations (...)," Oliva added. 

Likewise, the minister pointed out the Infrastructure Plan is an important work that began in August 2018. 


In this sense, the cabinet member explained the UK has been supporting the government since September last year with the purpose of developing and adapting a methodology aimed at prioritizing projects.  

Remarks were made during the Forum for Competitiveness "Accountability for Peru's Sustainable Growth" held in Lima.
