President: Strength, unity and clean elections are what Peru requires to move forward

10:18 | Lima, Jul. 16.

Strength, unity, and guaranteeing clean general elections are what Peru requires to move forward, President Martin Vizcarra affirmed on Thursday, after inaugurating the EsSalud Village for COVID-19 patients in Lima's San Juan de Lurigancho district.

Likewise, the Head of State expressed confidence that the meetings between new Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano and the political forces will be positive.

The top official stated that Cateriano's main duty is to strengthen institutions and democracy, which should lead to guaranteeing clean and transparent general elections in April next year.

The statesman said that it is necessary to listen to the population and implement what they demand through different mechanisms.

For this reason, the leader highlighted the meetings that the Cabinet chief would hold with Congress Chairman Manuel Merino and the political forces represented in Parliament.
