Pedro Cateriano on Wednesday was sworn in as new Prime Minister of Peru to replace
Vicente Zeballos.
The swearing-in ceremony takes place at the Government Palace in Lima.
Led by Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra, the act sees the presence of members of the outgoing Cabinet.
Earlier on Wednesday, Cateriano reported that he had accepted the invitation of President Martin Vizcarra to assume the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
"I offer hard work, honesty, and democratic conduct for a more just and freer Peru," he posted on Twitter.
In a past administration, Mr. Cateriano served as Defense Minister (July 2012 - April 2015) and Prime Minister (April 2015 - July 2016).
