Pope Leo XIV's visit to Peru will boost tourism by mobilizing more than 850,000 visitors, including around 50,000 international tourists, who are expected to arrive to take part in this historic gathering of faith, Foreign Trade and Tourism Rogers Valencia projected on Friday.

In this regard, the government official highlighted that Lima, Cusco, Pucallpa, and Chiclayo will be the main destinations for this influx of visitors, benefiting hotels, restaurants, transportation providers, and other tourism service providers.

The Cabinet member also underscored the coordinated efforts of the national, regional, and local governments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Church, and the private sector to welcome visitors and harness this opportunity.

Along these lines, he highlighted the potential of religious tourism and the importance of transforming Peru’s cultural and spiritual assets into competitive tourism products, supported by infrastructure, accessibility, and quality services.
