Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola underscored that the relationship between Peru and the United States is based on common values and principles such as the promotion of both democracy and the rule of law, as well as full respect and defense of human rights.
Likewise, the Cabinet chief stressed that Peru is a country open to foreign investment, and emphasized that it relies on an investor-friendly legal framework.
"Peru offers multiple investment opportunities, and from the Government, we are focused on promoting initiatives linked to sustainable infrastructure, which contribute to closing gaps and addressing citizens' needs," he indicated.
Fight against drug trafficking
At the meetings,
Prime Minister Otarola reaffirmed Peru's solid commitment, joined by the United States, to confront illicit drug trafficking by criminal organizations.
"This (drug trafficking) is a threat against the security and democratic stability of our country and the continent," he stated.
Within this framework,
the Cabinet chief conveyed the invitation by the Peruvian Government for President Biden to participate in APEC 2024, which will take place in Lima next year.
