Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) has affirmed that exports by
expanded 122% over the last 15 years.
In 2004,
Mincetur established the Exporter's Day in recognition of all those men and women of the sector who contributed to exceeding the goal of US$10 billion in exports —a record figure at that time.
"Last year, we registered a milestone in the history of our exports:
Peru exceeded US$47 billion in shipments. During 15 years, we have quadrupled the value of exports thanks to the efforts made by the entire exporting force in the country," Minister Vasquez expressed.
"If we compare that total amount with what was achieved in 2018, around US$4.235 billion, we can affirm that the value of
SMEs' exports has grown 122% over the last 15 years, an achievement that would not have been possible without the articulated and constant efforts of Mincetur, PromPeru, and the private sector," he remarked.
During the event, it was also revealed that —until August 2019— the Inca country boosted the exports development of 2753
Peruvian SMEs, whose shipped value reached US$3.622 billion.
The event was part of the commemorative activities for the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Exporter's Day celebrated on November 9.
