Some 15 Peruvian companies —offering a diverse range of products— will participate in the China International Import Export (CIIE), the organizers informed Monday.

Peruvian high-ranking authorities will also attend the fair to be held in Shanghai on November 5-10.

CIIE Bureau Deputy-Director Zhong Xiaomin highlighted the Inca nation's potential for exporting more value-added products to China and increasing trade with the Asian Giant.

"Peru has great potential for increasing exports and business in the Chinese market in various domains," he told Andina news agency.

Likewise, the official informed the Asian nation continues opening its market to non-traditional and high-quality national products.

He added the Inca country's potential could also aim for the high-quality food sector since there is a higher demand for farming, organic, and ecological products.

An important market

On the other hand, Peru's Trade Office (Ocex) Management and Monitoring Department Director Teresa Mera affirmed the Asian country is an important market for the South American nation.

"China is a market that presents lots of opportunities for Peruvian products and service exporters," Mera expressed.

"This will be an important platform to offer the world what we have," she added.

Over 2,800 companies from over 130 countries and regions have already confirmed their attendance at the Chinese fair.

More than 150,000 (local and foreign) buyers are expected to participate in the event as well.
