The Superfoods Peru trade mission in Beijing, China generated around US$408,000 in sale commitments for the upcoming 12 months, Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) informed Wednesday.
The mission promoted maca, quinoa, and sacha inchi, along with other products like walnuts and quinoa compotes with fruits.
The activity boosted the
Superfoods Peru brand in the
Chinese market and
brought a wider product range for consumers interested in a healthy diet.
This mission took place on May 7 and was held by Peru's Trade Office in Beijing, with the support of the Association of Peruvian Exporters (Adex) and PromPeru.
It must be noted similar missions have been carried out in Germany, the
United States, Panama, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic.
The delegation was composed of seven Peruvian companies: La Nuez, Agroindustrias Amazonicas, De Guste,
Dazze, Quimachi,
Promaca, and Bio Naturista, which secured business appointments with 30 buyers from northern
China.
Attendees enjoyed cooking classes, contests, as well as samplings of fruits and cereals native to the Inca country.
