Peruvian Ambassador meets with International Coffee Organization executive-director

Peruvian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Juan Carlos Gamarra held a meeting with International Coffee Organization (ICO) Executive-Director Jose Sette in London.

This audience was aimed at preparing for the 124th Session of the International Coffee Council to take place in Nairobi (Kenya) on March 25-30. 

Ambassador Gamarra will represent the Inca country at the coming event. 

Forty-four exporting and six importing members are expected to attend. They account for 98% of global production and 67% of world consumption, respectively. 

Producer and trade associations, as well as the agencies in charge of development projects in the sector, will also participate in the event. 

It should be noted coffee production in Peru is of vital importance, since more than 236,000 families depend on this bean

Nowadays, the Inca country's coffee is recognized as one of the best in international markets. In addition, Peru is the second producer and exporter of organic coffee in the world.
