Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Rogers Valencia has presented the Cafes del Peru (Coffees from Peru) brand aimed at contributing to the proper positioning of this important national product worldwide.

"The goal of this national and international launching (event) is to position Peruvian coffee under an independent brand, with a differentiated quality that can be recognized in all markets," Valencia pointed out.

He went on to add this brand represents all types of Peru-harvested coffee beans characterized by their high quality

The brand's objective is to inform consumers about the product's background, which is connected with Peru's cultural wealth and biodiversity.

These aspects contribute to coffee's diverse range of flavors, smells, and varieties.

Its yield also involves the efforts undertaken by almost half a million families from different areas of the territory

On a global scale, output is centered on seven countries, and Peru is one of them. The Inca nation is also the second-largest producer of organic coffee around the world.

According to the Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru), Peru holds the fourth place among coffee-producing countries which rely on a sustainable certification.

Peruvian coffee's top destinations are the United States, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Canada, South Korea, Italy, the United Kingdom, Colombia, and the Netherlands.

Remarks were made while opening the Expo Amazonica 2018 fair.
