The Andean nation was the location for an episode of Epic Trails, an adventure TV series that follows wilderness adventurer, Eric Hanson, on his journey to discover people, places, and adventures surrounding the world's top trails.
According to Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru), the
30-minute episode was entirely dedicated to the South American country.
In fact, each
Epic Trails episode follows
Eric on his world travels, while taking viewers on breathtaking adventures, and telling the unique stories of the places and the people that Eric encounters along the way, and Peru's was no exception.
PromPeru affirms this type of exposure highlights the country as a
dream destination for foreign visitors, portraying its unique landscapes that captivate locals and foreigners, whose visits are perfect to
do open-air activities or rest with a great view.
The inspiring program is currently aired by Outside TV and soon to be broadcast by Fox Sports, which together will draw 31 million viewers in the United States.
"The idea behind Epic Trails was to capture and share the magic of the world's top hiking
destinations," says
Heliconia President and Epic Trails Producer, Ken Whiting.
"After watching the show, I think most people will agree that as the host of the series, Eric has one of the best jobs in the world," he added.
As is known, the United States is one of the most important markets for the global tourism industry.
Additionally, the most popular activities among U.S. vacationers —while in Peru— focus on culture (92%),
adventure (48%), and nature (58%).
