The Government works to give the people health, education services and meet their great needs, the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo affirmed on Friday.

Within this framework, he emphasized that public and private sectors must become true allies so as to move the country forward and achieve the development that Peru expects.

The Head of State recalled that when he took office (July 28, 2021), certain rumors suggested that his administration would convene a national constituent assembly to remain in power beyond 2026 or implement a communist model in the country.

"Totally false, wrong; people have to get that out of their heads; we have come here to give the people health and education (services), to meet their major needs," he pointed out during his participation in the Executive Meeting: Strengthening the Management Capacity of Municipalities of Population Centers in Peru.

Similarly, he affirmed it is important that mayors prioritize and complete public works in order to meet the population's needs such as those related to education and health.

Government of provinces

Furthermore, the President stressed that, at meetings with regional governors and provincial mayors, he has told them that "we have to make this Government truly become a Government of the provinces, of the neighborhoods —one that promotes a true decentralization."

"Public and private sectors must become the true allies to move the country forward and achieve the development that Peru expects," he noted.

Today's event was also attended by Prime Minister Anibal Torres, as well as mayors of municipalities of population centers in Peru.
