on Monday assured that the works currently underway in Piura —within the framework of reconstruction with changes— will allow this northern region to make a significant leap forward in terms of development,
, and the population's well-being.
"These works do not only have an economic effect, but also for disaster and
health protection. This is an extraordinary opportunity (…)," he said.
The Head of State affirmed that Piura's future is in the hands of all its citizens, who must show the country what they are capable of doing. Thus, he asked everyone to put forth the effort and leave the differences behind.
Likewise, the top official said that Piura can count on his administration, to the extent of its possibilities, given that it has a short time in office as the country faces the worst economic,
health, and social issues ever.
Furthermore, the statesman specified that reconstruction works include the construction of 29 schools and storm drainage, as well as management of Piura River basin, which are being developed thanks to a significant investment from the Peruvian State.
Peru's leader also indicated that the transitional and emergency administration he leads will leave the country and Piura on track for the third century of its independent life, which begins on July 28, 2021.
