Peru's President pays working visit to Piura region

Peruvian President Francisco Sagasti on Monday morning arrived in Piura to pay a working visit to this region of northern Peru.

This is the first trip President Sagasti makes in his capacity as Head of State.

While in Piura, the statesman is expected to inspect the implementation of road infrastructure and river defense works for the benefit of locals.

"These reconstruction works are part of a large investment made by the State in Piura region in order to take a significant leap forward in terms of health, education, economic development, and —above all— well-being of the population," he said.

During his visit, the Peruvian leader is accompanied by Ministers Eduardo Gonzalez (Transport and Communications), Federico Tenorio (Agrarian Development and Irrigation), and Executive-Director of the Authority for Reconstruction with Changes Amalia Moreno.
