In his first Address to the Nation as President of the Republic, Francisco Sagasti highlighted the economic priorities that his administration will have in the coming months until the end of his term in office on July 28, 2021.

Within this framework, the Head of State announced the following pillars on which his administration will be based in the economic sphere:

1. Economic reactivation to generate jobs, seeking a better distribution of what Peru produces and generates.

2. Guaranteeing economic stability and fiscal balance, with a responsible management of public finances, for which a duly financed public budget for 2021 will be crafted.

3. Enhancing the budget execution capacity at the different levels of public management, through a review of the State Contracting Law.

4. Providing technical support to improve the execution of public investment by regional and local governments, so that works are carried out quickly and without corruption, for which more effective mechanisms are being devised.

5. Paying attention to the most urgent and priorities among the demands of the population, given the fiscal context of lower tax collection.

6. Promoting the Zero Hunger Program, for which the National Agreement will be convened in order to design the respective agricultural policies.
