Peru's Prime Minister Betssy Chavez on Monday, during a Congress plenary session, supported the Bill on the Budget, Financial Balance, and Indebtedness for the Fiscal Year 2023.

The Cabinet chief was accompanied by members of the Ministerial Cabinet.

New Prime Minister

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Friday afternoon administered the oath of office to Betssy Chavez, who has become the new Prime Minister of Peru.

Thus, the 33-year-old Congresswoman replaced resigning Prime Minister Anibal Torres in the post.

During previous months, Chavez served as Minister of Culture and Labor-Employment Promotion. Her participation in this latter sector ended in May 2022 —after Congress approved a censure motion against her.
