During a plenary session on Thursday, Parliament approved the censure motion against
Half the legal number of total Congress members (66) was required for the proposal to pass.
The motion was approved with 71 votes in favor, 28 against, and 12 abstentions.
This request was promoted by Fuerza Popular party, alleging the responsibility of the Labor portfolio's head in the air traffic controllers' strike during the Holy Week last April.
After an initial request for interpellation, Chavez was questioned at a Congress plenary session on May 12.
The Cabinet member recently stated that she took the censure motion very calmly.
She also said that the request was due to the defense of workers promoted by the Executive Branch through the Labor Code draft bill.
