Peru: President swears in six Ministers of State

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Friday night administered the oath of office to six State Ministers who will lead the following sectors: Foreign Affairs; Economy-Finance; Labor-Employment Promotion; Transportation-Communications; Housing-Construction-Sanitation; and Culture.

On this occasion, the Head of State swore in Miguel Angel Rodriguez Mackay as Foreign Affairs Minister. He replaces Cesar Landa Arroyo in the post.

In turn, Kurt Burneo Farfan was sworn in as new Minister of Economy and Finance. He succeeds Oscar Graham Yamahuchi in office.

Afterwards, the top official administered the oath of office to Alejandro Salas Zegarra, who has become the new Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion. He replaces Juan Lira Loayza in this position.

Subsequently, Geiner Alvarado Lopez was sworn in as new Minister of Transportation and Communications. He replaces Juan Barranzuela Quiroga. 

For his part, the Head of State swore in Cesar Paniagua Chacon as new Minister of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation, who succeeds Geiner Alvarado Lopez in the post.

Lastly, the top official administered the oath of office to Betssy Chavez Chino, who has become Minister of Culture, thus replacing Alejandro Salas Zegarra in this position.

As is known, the Congresswoman had already served as Labor Minister in President Castillo's administration.

The ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima.
