Peru's Foreign Minister Ricardo Luna and Swedish Minister for EU Affairs and Trade Ann Linde on Tuesday signed a roadmap to provide bilateral relations with a political-diplomatic boost over the next years.

The Peruvian government official welcomed the visit of Minister Linde, who is currently in Peru to officially reopen the Embassy of Sweden in Lima after 15 years.

Following a work meeting, both Ministers signed the “Peru - Sweden Roadmap” to reinforce the countries' bilateral ties.

The document serves as a joint-work guideline, which identifies cooperation possibilities in the following areas: trade and investments; environment and sustainable development; education, research and science; gender equality and social affairs; culture; as well as security and defense.

Both authorities highlighted the high level of bilateral relations reached in recent years.

In this respect, the officials underlined top-level political visits and meetings held. These include the dialogue between the then Peruvian President Ollanta Humala and Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven in 2015, as well as the visit Crown Princess Victoria and Infrastructure Minister Anna Johansson paid to Peru.

Minister Linde is on an official visit to our country joined by a delegation of Foreign Affairs officials, a large group of entrepreneurs, as well as authorities from Business Sweden, the Swedish Institute, the Swedish Council for Higher Education and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

The “Seminar on Education in Sweden” and the “Official Launch of the Peru Business Climate Survey 2016-2017” were held within the framework of Mrs. Linde's visit.
