President Martin Vizcarra has affirmed he is surprised by former Odebrecht officers' statements which involve ex-Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva in having received money from the Brazilian company.
According to
IDL-Reporteros, Odebrecht made two payments worth US$30,000 each to Villanueva —under the alias "Curriculum Vita"— for the San Jose de Sisa Highway case.
The payments had been ordered by Eleuberto Martorelli.
The money deliveries had allegedly taken place when Villanueva was San Martin Region Governor (2007-2013).
As is known, Cesar Villanueva —current lawmaker of Alianza para el Progreso— was Prime Minister from April 2018 to March 2019. He was replaced by
Salvador del Solar.
