President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday urged citizens to vote for honest and hardworking authorities during the regional and municipal elections on October 7.

"(…) it is up to you to make the best decision," the Head of State expressed.

President Vizcarra asked the population to assess the candidates and choose wisely in order to count with authorities whose work will be completely transparent.

Given that corruption is the Inca country's biggest problem, being able to depend on honest people at municipalities, regional governments, and other institutions —such as Congress and the Judicial Branch— is necessary, the Peruvian leader indicated.

He also reaffirmed his administration's commitment to continue carrying out works and projects, as well as listening to citizens' demands in order to handle them accordingly.

"Be assured my administration will keep fighting against corruption," he stressed.

Statements were made during the delivery ceremony of 10 compactors for waste disposal in Jose Leonardo Ortiz district, in Chiclayo.
