President Martin Vizcarra on Friday asked the entire population of Peru to elect good regional governors and honest hardworking mayors during the
upcoming October elections.
Speaking from
Puno, a region in southern Peru, the Head of State urged people to commit to choosing competent mayors.
"We have a good team, but we want to have a good, hardworking, diligent, and honest squad as a counterpart in
regions," the Peruvian leader noted.
"I, as
President (of Peru), guarantee fair and transparent elections, but I want you to commit to choosing well," he underlined after monitoring a wastewater treatment plant in Puno.
